Memorandum on cooperation


On Wednesday, 3 May the delegation of the German Football Union (DFB) headed by DFB president, member of FIFA Board and UEFA Executive Committee Reinhard Grindel visited Moscow.


During the visit the ceremony of signing Memorandum on cooperation between FUR and DFB was held in the Russia 2018 LOC office in Luzhniki. President Vitaly Mutko took part in the ceremony on FUR behalf and president Reinhard Grindel signed the memorandum on DFB behalf. It shall be noted that earlier there was a memorandum on cooperation between the two associations – now its operation is resumed.

The memorandum is aimed at strengthening and further developing close cooperation, exchange of specialists and knowledge between FUR and DFB. The Football Union of Russia and the German Football Union undertake to coordinate their activities on organizing and staging international friendly matches of their men’s and women’s, youth and futsal teams. It is also planned to develop joint educational and players’ training programs and to promote women’s and grassroots football.

Besides, the participants of the meeting attended the Luzhniki stadium. Russia-2018 LOC CEO Alexey Sorokin told about the preparation of our country to the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and 2018 FIFA World Cup.

"The memorandum extends and supplements the agreements existed before. The current agreement provides more opportunities for the cooperation – young and talented players’ training; knowledge and experience exchange. We expect serious efficient work”,- noted FUR president Vitaly Mutko.

"We are sure that Russia has a lot of football talents to be discovered. We are pleased that our experience, our concept will be rendered to Russia. In Germany we developed the program that helps to prepare good players and our national team started to get high results. We do not expect fast effect, this is a long term work”, - said DFB president Reinhard Grindel.
