Alexander Borodyuk celebrates 55!

On Thursday, November the 30-th, the USSR Honored Master of Sports and Honored Coach of Russia, and now the coach of the national team of Kazakhstan, Alexander G. Borodyuk turned 55 years old.

Alexander Genrihovich was born on November 30, 1962 in Voronezh. During his professional career he played for the following clubs: “Fakel” (Voronezh), “Dynamo” (Vologda), “Dynamo” (Moscow), in which he won the USSR Cup, “Lokomotiv” (Moscow), in which he won already the Russian Cup, “Torpedo-ZIL“ (Moscow), “Krylya Sovetov” (Samara) and three German teams – “Schalke 04”, “Freiburg” and “Hannover 96”. He is a football player of the USSR and Russia, an Olympic Champion 1988.

Having finished his career as a player Borodyuk switched to coaching.  He coached the Samara "Wings of the Soviets", the Moscow "Torpedo" and the Kazakhstan "Kairat" and worked with the youth and national teams of Russia as well. In 2008, being an assistant to the head coach of the national team, he won the bronze medal of the European Championship held in Austria and Switzerland. In February this year, Alexander Borodyuk headed the national team of Kazakhstan.
