Vladimir Pereturin passes away


On Monday, May 22, a renowned national football sports commentator and USSR master of sports (Football) Vladimir Ivanovich Pereturin passed away at the age of 78.

An alumnus of Moscow “Dynamo”, he had played on the B roster of the “white and blue”, as well as for “Dynamo” (Kirov), “Dynamo” (Leningrad), and “Saturn” (Rybinsk). He was champion of the Russian Federation Spartakiade (1959).

After retiring from his professional football career, he became a sports commentator in 1970, having attained tremendous success and widespread acclaim. He provided the commentary not only of the major football events, but also of leading events in other sports (Olympic games, Ice Hockey World Cups). He was RFU Committee Chairman for Public Relations and Fair Play. In 1997 he was the winner of the “Shooter” award – best TV commentator prize.

The RFU is deeply mournful and expresses sincere condolences to the family and next of kin of Vladimir Pereturin.

The eulogy and last respects for the great commentator will be paid on Thursday, May 25, in a special assembly parlor of hospital nº23 morgue at the following address: Gospitalnaya Square, 2 (“Aviamotornaya” subway station).
